LOE Africa April 2008Wildest Southern Africa19 days5400km 4 countries: South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Namibia 6 great wildlife and scenic parks: Victoria Falls NP, Caprivi Game Park, Etosha National Park, Skeleton Coast Park, Namib-Naukluft Park and the Cape of Good Hope Nature reserve. ItineraryDay 1: Fly Australia to Johanesburg (Jhb) or meet at Jo'burg – overnight accommodation in Guesthouse. Pick vehicles up.Day 2: J'hb to Martins Drift on SA/Botswana border (450km). Day 3: Travel north to the Makgadi-Kgadi pans near Nata in Botwana, camping (550km) Day 4: Travel to Livingstone in Zambia close to Victoria Falls(360km). Day 5: Victoria Falls. Explore the Falls area and then enjoy the Flight of Angels over the Falls. Evening cruise on Zambezi River. Day 6: Leave Livingstone and head to Caprivi Game Park in the famous Caprivi Strip of Namibia. Bush camp. (320km) Day 7: Head west and camp along the mighty Okovango River near Rundu. (400km) Day 8: Head south-west to Etosha Gate in Etosha NP (400km) Day 9: Drive thru' park to camp near Etosha Pan within the vast national park (150km). Day 10: Drive south to Hentiesbaai on the Skeleton Coast of Namibia (380km) Day 11: Drive south to Swakopmund (80km). Day 12: Drive south through the Namib-Naukluft Park to Sesriem – gateway to Sossusvlei. (400km) Day 13: Ballooning in the morning across Sossusvlei. Explore park in afternoon (150km). Day 14: Travel south to Fish River Canyon – one of the deepest canyons in the world. (600km) Day 15: Travel south to Springbok and Goegap Nature Reserve (250km). Day 16: Travel south to Lamberts Bay on the Atlantic coast. Evening at seaside restaurant (360km). Day 17: Travel south-east via Worcester then south through the vineyards and mountains of the Little Karroo to Gordon's Bay (400km). Day 18: Travel around coast visiting Rhodes house at Simon's Town before arriving at the historic and awe inspiring Cape of Good Hope. Head north along Atlantic coast to Cape Town (120km). Hand vehicles back. Farewell dinner at guest house. Day 19: LOE Africa trip ends after breakfast. | ||||
